How many camera angles do I get?

It depends on the package: Studio Essentials records one cinematic 4K angle, and both Studio Recording packages record three. One angle gives you a single clean talking-head shot for the whole video. With three angles, an editor can cut between views, for example a wide shot and close-ups, which keeps a conversation moving on screen. The jump from Studio Essentials to Studio Recording is $51 more per hour and adds the full crew, the other two angles, photos, raw files and file storage. For a bigger show, the system has inputs for up to five camera angles, added for an extra fee. The prices and packages page compares all three packages in full.

What does a three-camera video podcast session look like?

A three-camera video podcast usually pairs one wide shot of the whole conversation with a close-up on each speaker. The wide shot shows both people and the set around them, and the close-ups show faces and reactions. In the edit, the picture cuts between the three angles while the audio runs straight through, so the video stays lively and the conversation never breaks.

At The Cast Studio, the Studio Recording packages give you three 4K angles, and a full crew handles the cameras, lighting and audio while you focus on the conversation. Behind-the-scenes photos and video come with the session, and the raw files follow within 24 hours. With Studio Recording + Enhanced Edit, the studio also does the cutting and delivers a 4K multicam edit.

What do I receive after a video podcast session?

After a Studio Recording session you receive raw video files, behind-the-scenes photos and video, and thumbnail and guest photos. Raw files are delivered within 24 hours with the Studio Recording packages. With Studio Recording + Enhanced Edit you also receive the finished edit. What you get depends on the package:

  • Studio Essentials: one cinematic 4K angle with on-site tech assistance, and no photos listed. The published Studio Essentials package does not list a delivery time or storage period; ask when you book.
  • Studio Recording: three 4K angles, raw files, behind-the-scenes photos and video, thumbnail and guest photos, and file storage.
  • Studio Recording + Enhanced Edit: everything in Studio Recording, plus the finished 4K multicam edit with mastered audio and your logo, lower thirds and name titles added, and longer file storage.
